I'm not a big fan of hardcore punk, and I've yet to make the bridge between screaming and singing, but this event was absolutely nuts. Like Loki was saying, the crowd gets so into it that you're pulled in. If I can ever track down the girl that made off with my camera, I'll have pictures for a concert review. I think WIR is one of those bands, and not just because they're friends of mine. I have experienced that punkrock euphoria at their shows, where your body becomes transfixed and you lose it a little. It's hard to describe but anyone who has felt it I'm sure knows what I am talking about. Maybe their thing isn't for everyone but it is for me. Maybe it's just the right place and time for it. Does it still thrive? It seems so tame now.
